He was born in Konya/Ereğli in 1964. After first childhood years in Adana,he finished Çayhan Primary School in 1975, Çayhan Middle School in 1978, Konya-Ereğli Cumhuriyet High School in 1981. After graduating from Gazi University,Faculty of Education Department of Turkish Language and Literature in 1985,he was appointed as Turkish Language and Literature teacher to Adana Anatolian High School. He began working as Turkish Language lecturer at Çukurova University in 1990. He completed his master’s degree at Turkish Language and Literature Department of Çukurova University Institute of Social Sciences in 1992. He became teaching assistant at Çukurova University Faculty of Education in 1995. He completed his doctorate at Turkish Language and Literature Department of Çukurova University Institute of Social Sciences in 1999 and became assistant professor at Çukurova University Faculty of Education in the same year. He founded Turkish Education Department in 2006 and began working as head of the department. He received the title of associate professor in 2012. He founded Turkish Education Application and Research Center in 2013 and was appointed as the director of the center. He took many administrative tasks as vice president of department,head of department, board member of the research and application center,board member of the faculty board and faculty. He still serves as head of department of Turkish Education, director of Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center (Çukurova TÖMER) and rector counselor. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Faruk Yıldırım has boks named Adana and Osmaniye Dialects I-II (TDK,2006) and Abdal Hidden Language (Karahan,2011) and has many scientific articles and papers.Faruk Yıldırım,has good command of English, is married with two children.
